Plan to Make Work Pay Overview

  • The Government’s Plan to Make Work Pay is a core part of their mission to grow the economy, raise living standards across the country and create opportunities for all. It aims to tackle the low pay, poor working conditions and poor job security that has been holding the economy back.
  • Delivery of the Plan to Make Work Pay will be approached in phases. We are currently in Phase One.
  • As is commonplace in employment legislation, secondary legislation will be required to implement many of the reforms.
  • The Government introduced the Employment Rights Bill on 10 October 2024
